Converting an FLV file to an AVI file

I have been looking at this for quite a while now and one thing that sprung to mind is that there must be loads of software out there to do this as on the face of it, it really didn’t seem that much of a complicated task.
Well guess how much software I managed to find to do this - LOADS!
I’m more one of those people who will rather try the free software to see where I get than spend money from day one, but on this occasion I decided to look for some more commercial software. The reason for this is that what I used to do Quciktime to AVI conversions with a piece of software (that will remain nameless) I found that the sound and video were completely out of sync. (It could have only been for a mili-second, but out of sync none the less.) And also if I had paid for it I would get some kind of technical support if needed.
So whilst looking for some commercial (not free) flv to avi converters I came accross FLVSoft FLV to AVI software. Well presented web page and promised that it works well. (on their website).
Next I decided to do a good search on Google to find any reviews and couldn’t find any. - No news is good news when it comes to software.
So when I went to download it the free trial I realised that this is a piece of software called FLV to Video Converter Pro not FLV to AVI. - So off I went searching Google for reviews, again, nothing - Great!
Downloaded, installed and ready to go!
Next I followed this step by step guide on converting FLV to AVI.
After about 10 minutes of playing with it I have an AVI version of the FLV file I downloaded from Youtube using Keepvid.
