First Computer Mouse
Today, 9th December 2008, the computer mouse celebrates it’s 40th anniversary!
40 years ago today Douglas Engelbart demonstrated the world’s first Computer mouse.
The first mouse that Dr Engelbart demonstrated at the Fall Joint Computer Conference (FJCC) was made of wood and had one only button.
He demonstrated how the mouse had two tracking wheels to track from left to right & up and down. It was demonstrated with a small cursor on the screen.
A celebration is planned today to mark the occasion in California where many of the original researchers will be reunited for this momentous day.
