Google’s New “Mini Site Links”

Google Site Links

Google Site Links

So over the last 4-5 days I have been hapily browsing, not noticing that the result at page one has site links.

So what’s so strange about that - you ask?

Well… as we all know, Google has site links for almost every website that sits at position one in the SERPS, but usually when the search term directly matches the websites’ theme or name. - See the image on the right…

(What’s also worth mentioning, is that site links only seem to appear when a website’s “home page” is the SERPS result - and research shows, so far, that it’s only the top result that seems to have the google mini site links)

BUT…

As a search engine user you will have noticed that many result pages on google where the website theme did not directly match the search terms do not have these site links.

Well, now they do!

See the screenshot on the right: Google have finally decided to show a few of the site links.

This is great news for webmasters as now some of the inner pages of the site are being shown along side their home page.

Site links & mini site links on Google will usually appear when the home page is the page shown in the SERPS.

Update:

Here’s Google’s blog post on mini site links or one line site links.

Any comments?
